In some research studies, something else was becoming clear: The dose of radiation received has a lot to do with who gets cured and who doesn’t. In other words, men who receive higher doses of radiation have lower relapse rates than men who receive lower radiation doses. However, in traditional radiation treatment, higher dosage almost always means more, and worse, side effects (the nearby bladder and rectum are particularly susceptible to injury).
